Crocheting and knitting cable patterns: which version do you prefer?

Dear users, dear authors,
Cable patterns are very popular. Do you prefer knitted or crocheted cable patterns? As far as I know, there are different cable pattern techniques within one type of craft. Would you like to tell us something about that, maybe also about the Celtic cable pattern?

Personally, I find knitted cable patterns more beautiful. They have a much softer texture (regardless of the yarn) and therefore—to me, at least!—look more charming and elegant.
And with crocheted cable patterns, there are much larger “holes” in the work, since you usually have to use double relief stitches, triple relief stitches, and so on.
I also think you can create much more variety with cable patterns when knitting.
But that’s just my personal preference.

That’s exactly my preference too! I just can’t quite get into crocheted cables.

I’m also more of a knitter when it comes to cables. Last spring, I couldn’t get enough of trying out different patterns and knitted a lot with cables.

Crocheting isn’t really my thing. I bought a magazine once, but I didn’t try out much.

Knitted cables come in so many variations and look great. But I don’t really like knitting with those auxiliary needles anymore.
I haven’t crocheted a cable pattern yet, but I’ll probably give it a try on a baby cardigan or sweater.
