The Role of Crochet in the Fashion Industry

Dear users, dear authors,
in the ’70s, crocheted items were totally in, then they were out for a while, and then they were back in again. Nothing stays out forever. :-) Regardless of trends, is crochet something that fits your personal taste / your wardrobe, or not so much? Do you prefer crocheted animals, amigurumi, and decorations?

Actually, last summer I saw women wearing airy crocheted sweaters more often—I hadn’t seen that in ages before then.
I really like crocheted decorations and amigurumi; I think they’re a great way to add a finishing touch to candles, lanterns, and similar items.
When it comes to sweaters, my favorite crocheted ones are the really airy, oversized ones with lots of holes, worn with a color-coordinated top underneath.
I’d rather knit a cozy winter sweater, as well as socks.
But accessories like scarves, shawls, and bags look great when they’re crocheted, too.
