Fingerless gloves

Hi, I’m currently crocheting the fingerless gloves.
1. Unfortunately, the instructions don’t mention how to finish off at the end of the fingers. Do you just pull the yarn through, or finish with a slip stitch?
2. What do you do if the fingers are too tight? Is there a size chart? Or do you just have to try it out? It’s just a hassle if you have to rip everything out again.
I’d really appreciate an answer.
