Shallow and deep triangular shawls?

Hi everyone,

I’m still pretty new to triangular shawls and have already come across the terms “shallow shawl” and “deep shawl” several times. However, I haven’t really been able to figure out which is which.

Google isn’t much help. From the context, it seems to have something to do with the shape of the long side (I think??), but I’m really unsure.

Any help?

For a while, I didn’t understand what that meant either.

A triangular wrap has a tip, of course. And “flat” means that the length from the top down to the tip (I’d call that the depth or height) isn’t very high. 

For a deep scarf, this length is, say, 90 cm, and for a flat scarf, for example, only 50 cm. Although it’s probably up to your own judgment as to what length qualifies as “flat” or “deep.”
