Knitting Amigurumi / Crocheting Amigurumi

Dear users, dear authors,
are amigurumi often crocheted because the crochet stitches make the little animal sturdier and easier for beginners to handle? Is that generally correct?
How can you make knitting amigurumi easier?

Actually, my first attempts were knitted—I made some very simple teddy bears using leftover sock yarn that wasn’t enough to make a sock anymore.

Personally, now that I’ve mostly switched to crocheting, I find it to be more versatile. The single crochet stitches make the little animals very dimensionally stable right from the start, and I think there are also much more intricate possibilities.
For animals meant to be cuddly pillows, knitting would probably be better because they turn out softer and cuter that way.

Another advantage of crocheting is that you can see right away how the shape is turning out. With knitting, you don’t really know until the piece is taken off the needles.

Because of the many different stitches available in crocheting, you simply have much more flexibility to achieve the right shape.
