Dear all,
I’m currently crocheting my first soul warmer. Now I’m supposed to sew the sides together and, of course, wear it with the “right side” facing out. But which side is the right side in crochet? 😬
I know this when knitting, but this is the first larger piece I’ve crocheted, and to me both sides look the same 🤷🏻♀️.
(I could also ask the author, but maybe other beginners like me are interested too, and perhaps there’s a general answer.)
Best regards
Karola
You can’t answer that question in such general terms. A soul warmer is crocheted in rows.
And now it depends on the pattern: Some patterns look the same on both sides, e.g., a solid color with only double crochets or only single crochets. But there are also patterns where the sides are different. Maybe
you’ll like one side better. I’d choose that one as the “pretty side.” (By the way, there are also knitting patterns that look the same on both sides: garter stitch, for example, or seed stitch.)
Thank you all for your answers!
That really helped me.
Once this lovely piece is finished, I’ll definitely post a photo in the gallery. I’m really proud that I dared to tackle such a big project and, as a beginner, chose a pattern I haven’t crocheted before... and will probably finish it too ☺️.
So, thanks again!
Best regards
Karola
