Summer socks: which material is suitable?

Dear users, dear authors,
which material / yarn / fabric is suitable for summer socks?

There’s actually a special sock yarn with a cotton blend just for summer. I have a lovely multicolored yarn in my stash that’s 72% cotton.

So far, it’s just sitting there waiting to be used. But I could imagine making some sneaker socks out of it with a pretty lace pattern.

where can I find sock yarn that’s 72% cotton? I’ve only found some with about 50%. My youngest only wears hand-knitted socks, and the wool socks are already pretty warm in the summer...

I have this one from Schachenmayr. 

That’s interesting. Many years ago, I knitted some socks out of pure cotton. They weren’t very comfortable because they didn’t stretch much...
I’ll take a look at this blended yarn.

I walk barefoot a lot, so I really don’t need socks in the summer. But for the in-between seasons, I think sneaker socks made from sock yarn without any sheep’s wool are pretty cool. Almost all brands offer them in cotton, polyester, and usually with some spandex. 

There is also one from Lana Grossa called Meilenweit Cotone Vegano, and it has
 76% cotton,
14% polyamide
and 10% elastane
