Crocheted clothes totally in?!

Hi everyone,

could it be that crocheted clothing is totally in this season?
Here in our little town, I’ve already seen a few tops and coats made from granny squares (for an outrageous price 🫣—made in Thailand…). And yesterday I was in town and saw crocheted skirts there, also made from granny squares (and made in the Far East).

Have you guys “come across” clothes like this in stores yet?

Not in stores, but I’ve seen quite a few in magazines. It really does look like that.

While on vacation in Ireland, the store windows were full of colorful, crocheted tops, including many from brands well-known here.
There were also lots of dresses with crochet-pattern prints.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t tell if people were actually buying and wearing them—it was simply still too cold for that.
In any case, it seems to be a trend.

Hello and good evening, yes, I was in a boutique and they had several tops with large, airy openwork patterns, though most were knitted.
Ideal for layering and covering up. I’m already working on a crochet pattern for a summer shirt with a mix of patterns, doable in any width.
I’m also a big fan of fringes, and they really do seem to be in. I’m excited.

Is this really necessary? We’ve had this before, and even back then I thought it was awful—and now that I’m older, it’s even worse. My mother always wanted to dress me from head to toe in crocheted clothes. I told her every time, “You can crochet it, BUT I’m not wearing it, just so that’s clear,” and that’s still how it is today. I hate crocheted clothes on me and don’t find them exactly exciting.

That must be some kind of childhood trauma. My husband has it too—he wouldn’t even wear a scarf I made for him 😂
But I get it; I never wear 7/8 pants. Never!
