Terrible pattern—a bad purchase

I just bought a pattern and, for the first time ever, I can’t figure it out AT ALL.
When I follow the written instructions, the result is completely different from what the designer shows in a 45-minute video. The video goes too fast for me, the camera isn’t at a direct angle, and I can barely see the stitches because of all the fingernails in the way—in short, I already don’t feel like crocheting this piece and want my money back—in other words, I want to cancel the purchase. I’ll delete this terrible pattern anyway.
I also don’t want to contact the designer to have her explain anything to me; if there’s already a video included, you should at least be able to follow along with it. I just can’t get it right. It’s explained as if you already know what’s going on, but I don’t. Show it slowly, speak slowly. I’ve slowed down the video now, but that doesn’t help—the stitches are labeled incorrectly, symmetrical is confused with asymmetrical, and I’m totally confused.
What’s written down is different from what’s in the video. In short—I’d like to cancel my purchase. I can’t exactly say “bought as seen,” since I didn’t see it until after I bought it, and I don’t like it.
I just want to delete it and buy a pattern that I’ll actually enjoy.
