Intarsia: Am I on the right side or the wrong side row?

Hi everyone,
I’m facing a bit of an embarrassing problem right now:
I paused my work at the color change and am knitting in the round. Now I have two strands I could continue with. I don’t know if I’m on a right side row or a wrong side row, or which strand I should use.
Does anyone have any advice for me?

Just take a look at how the strands are lying.
If they’re pointing to the right, that’s the side you’re currently working on.

Well, on the front, both strands are behind the work, and on the back, they’re in front of the work.
It doesn’t get any more wrong than that, but somehow I still managed to knit in the wrong direction twice.
I had to rip it out and start over, and now everything’s right again. I couldn’t tell any other way—in the future, I’ll try to avoid this problem. But you could also tell by the yarn over at the end of the row.

My only advice would be to simply start the unraveling of the last two stitches and take a close look at what’s happening “backward” 😉
