Stick the sewing pattern onto packing paper and then cut it out

Dear users, dear authors,
I read in a product description that you should first print out the sewing pattern, then stick it onto packing paper, and only then cut it out. What’s the point of that?

Apparently, this keeps the sewing pattern free from tears along the edges, etc. I’ve tried it—it does have its advantages—but unfortunately, you also need a lot of space, because you can’t fold up the sewing patterns and put them in a cardboard box or storage box and slide them away somewhere. Instead, you need a stand where you can hang the bundled pattern pieces, and not everyone
has that kind of space. I put each sewing pattern in a clear plastic sleeve and then into the box it goes. SM = sewing pattern

Best regards, Inge

Hi,

Yes, I also think that this makes the sewing pattern more sturdy. That definitely has its advantages.

These days, though, many people already find printing and gluing it together too much trouble, so I think most people skip that extra step.

Then there’s also the space issue, as Akela already said.

Best regards, Sonja
