Sewing a muff / sewing hand warmers: is it practical for everyday use?

this muff looks good. In your opinion, is a muff practical for everyday use / a good alternative to gloves?

Years ago, we (as a couple) received couple’s gloves made of fleece fabric from the children, more as a joke.

When I’m out on my own, I put both my hands in, and I’m delighted with it. I love it.

Yes, I think a muff is lovely and practical. 

Do you mean a similar model to the one in the photo, just sewn and not crocheted? That's a romantic idea for Valentine's Day.

Yes, exactly, Josefa—that’s our couple’s muff. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes to go for walks hand-in-hand. 

As a child, I had a muff—I loved it very much—but now that I’m a grandma, unfortunately, a muff like that just isn’t practical for me anymore. If you have to walk with a walker or other assistive device, it’s just not an option, because your hands are needed for other things.
