Dear users, dear authors,
what are arm warmers good for?
Here’s an example:

Your fingers are free to do things and grab things, which often isn’t possible with gloves, and your hands still stay warm—that’s how it is for me, at least

Best regards, Inge

I’m quite sensitive to the cold and my arms, hands (and feet) get cold easily. Still, I also own a few tops with 3/4-length sleeves. That’s where wrist warmers come in handy, especially when I’m sitting at the computer.

Wrist warmers are super practical when you’re out shopping, for example, because you can reach for your wallet, pack up your purchases, and so on without having to take them off. This is especially great at the Christmas market, where it’s a bit colder anyway. I can do just about anything else with wrist warmers, too: withdraw money, tie my shoes, rummage through my purse for my things, blow my nose, fix my hair, and even type on a computer or tablet.
I also wear wrist warmers as early as fall, like at festivals, when it gets chilly in the evening. Holding drinks, eating, clapping—it’s all possible!
I generally prefer wrist warmers with a thumb hole. They fit well, don’t slip up or down, and my thumb stays nice and snug. Wrist warmers aren’t just practical—they’re also a super stylish accessory. I often knit wrist warmers to match my hats, scarves, or sweaters.

I have a few sweaters with shorter sleeves, so wrist warmers are really handy right now.

When I’m out for a walk, I can keep my wrist warmers on if I want to snap a quick photo. With gloves, I always have to take them off and look for a place to stash them for a moment.

I think the freedom to use your fingers is the biggest advantage of wrist warmers. These days, I prefer ones with a thumb hole—they don’t slip off anymore.

Wrist warmers are a really great—and my personal favorite—accessory because, on the one hand, they’re functional, but on the other hand, they’re also a wonderful and very simple way to add a fashionable and personal touch! There are so many variations, ranging from sturdy and sporty styles to delicate and elegant lace patterns; my closet is now filled with lots of pairs, and I can choose the right ones depending on the occasion and my mood.

Arm warmers keep your hands warm. Especially when you’re doing sedentary work—like office or desk work where you don’t move around much—your hands can quickly get cold, and you tend to feel the chill easily. If your hands are warm, you feel the cold much less!

Indoors, I usually wear wrist warmers—not fingerless gloves—so I don’t have to keep taking them on and off while doing tasks that might get my hands wet.

Outdoors, on the other hand, I prefer fingerless gloves—that is, wrist warmers with thumbs—because there’s always something beautiful to collect in nature, and I like having my fingers free.

By the way, I don’t think wrist warmers without thumbs slip more than those with thumbs. Wrist warmers have to fit properly. If they’re too loose, they’ll slip. When in doubt, it’s always better to knit them a little tighter, since they’ll stretch out a bit as you wear them ;-)
