what is crushed velvet?

Pannesamt is usually a polyester fabric, and when you cut it, it sheds like crazy—I had to take a shower every time afterward because my whole body was itchy.

No, of course not. I don’t know where the name comes from. Pannesamt is a fabric, as mentioned above, that’s always wrinkle-free and has its own unique texture. The fabric has a subtle sheen and drapes heavily. It looks very elegant because of its sheen.
Another advantage is that the edges practically don’t unravel. When sewing, this means you might be able to skip finishing the edges in some cases.
