Sewing Your Own Bras and Underwear

What should you keep in mind if you want to sew your own bras and underwear?

When sewing a bra yourself, you should make sure it fits very well. There are plenty of patterns online—that’s not the issue. You also need quite a few things to sew a bra yourself: the right fabric—it should be stretchy—Powernet for the lower cup, which ensures a good fit and support for the bust, underband elastic, sliders for the straps, plus strap elastic that shouldn’t be too narrow, otherwise it might dig in. Then lace, hook closures, and a small embellishment at the center front—after all, it should look nice.
 I sewed this rust-colored set for one of my daughters years ago; the sets above were all for me—I often sewed the panties to match the bra.
If you'd like to do this, you should take a lingerie sewing course first if you have the chance, because there's a lot to keep in mind—especially with bras.

Sewing your own bras is really something special.
You can tailor them perfectly to your own body shape and end up with a one-of-a-kind piece that fits perfectly.
You can’t find something like that in a store. But not every sewing pattern is right for everyone.
And as Akela says, there are a few things to keep in mind, and a specialized sewing class can be very helpful.
