Bread bag

This bread bag is for my godmother; I’ll make the matching bread basket tomorrow. I digitized the file myself way back at the very beginning of my embroidery career, so it’s already a few years old. I just tweaked it a bit today because back then I wasn’t as skilled at digitizing as I am now.

So now the bread set is complete: two bread baskets—one for rolls and one for loaves—as well as a storage bag for bread and other items. The
bag is lined

That looks sooo nice—great!
But I’m curious about the bread bag—we’ve been using a tin bread box so far, but the bread gets really soft by the second day, almost a little damp. Is it better in a fabric bag? Does the crust stay a little crispier in there?

The important thing is that the bread can *breathe*, Veronika, because if it's sealed airtight, it gets soft because it gives off its own moisture and becomes soft and *lascherd*, as we Franconians say.

That’s a great idea—I really like it. Your set looks fantastic, Inge.

I always put my bread in a cloth bag. Only when we have just a tiny bit left do we put it in a tin; otherwise, it dries out too much.

But since I’ve been baking my own bread, it disappears so quickly that it doesn’t even have time to dry out.

The whole set is so beautiful. It will make for a beautifully laid breakfast table.
