How to make fringes on a shawl

I need help making fringes on my shawl

Hi Meike,

what kind of fringes are you talking about? Those individual strands that often decorate the edge?

Those are knotted in. Either with a knotting hook or a crochet hook.
To do this, gather the strands in the center to form a loop.
  Then insert the needle or hook through a stitch in the shawl and pull your thread loop partway through the stitch.
Next, grab the ends of the thread you’re tying in and pull them all the way through the loop. Tighten it, and you’re all set.
