Beach Runner,...

That’s the name of this bag pattern, which I’ve sewn many times because it’s simply a brilliant pattern. The pattern is available from Farbenmix. This bag is made from the *scraps* left over from cutting out a tunic and a pair of pants. I plan to sew both pieces next week; the tunic will be sewn using a pattern I created myself.

This is another great way to use up scraps. It looks great. Does the “Beach Runner” bag have a handle, too? I was just imagining how I’d wear it crossbody. It surely holds a lot and feels nice to the touch. Did you reinforce the fabric pieces with interfacing before sewing them together?

Yes, the bag has a shoulder strap, and yes, the bag pieces were reinforced with interfacing; otherwise it would be a fabric tote and not a bag with structure :-) The bag can also be washed in the washing machine at 30/40°, which is an advantage if it gets dirty, something that can happen very easily with such a light-colored bag

The Strandläufer is also one of my favorite bags; a dear friend has already sewn two for me. But I already have some fabric on hand, so I’m going to give it a try myself.
