Help with Rib Stitch

Hi everyone,

I’m relatively new to knitting and have set out to make a ribbed top. So far, so good. I’ve now reached the right- and left-leaning increases, which I can do thanks to YouTube videos. The problem is that I’m losing the ribbing pattern because of the increases at the edges. I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone help me? If so, I’d be happy to send you an excerpt from the pattern and a description of what I’m doing. Thanks for your help.

if it’s a rib pattern with 1 knit stitch and 1 purl stitch, I increase 2 stitches so the pattern stays the same.

With 2 knit stitches and 2 purl stitches, that would be 4 stitches.

How’s it going with the rib pattern?
