The first little skirts and dresses are done...

For the children’s charity—this is one leg from one of my culottes that I don’t wear anymore, so the whole thing still serves a good purpose. Both pieces were made without a pattern, or rather, using my basic pattern folder.

Summer shorts and a hat, as well as a pair of doll pants, were also sewn today. The summer shorts used to be a blouse of mine, the hat is made from a leftover piece of a sweater I once sewed for myself, and the doll pants are made from a T-shirt. At the moment there are still a pair of fabric pants and a jersey jacket on my table waiting to be sewn; then I’ll cut out something new

And here’s a set made from one of my winter sweaters—I used to sweat a lot in it, so I stopped wearing it. Now it’s a winter set for a child who definitely needs it more than I do. Love, Inge

I used to enjoy sewing little summer dresses like these for my daughter. They turned out lovely. 

A little light-colored pair of jeans is finished too. The matching vest will be added tomorrow. I sewed a pocket onto the front and back and embroidered a little fish on it that I digitized myself; I used the larger one I sewed as a template.

Your kids’ clothes are so great. I’m sure you’ll find some grateful recipients. My grandson loves pull-on pants like these.

Did you embroider an appliqué on the gray pants?

Thanks! Yes, there’s a flower on it—I positioned the pattern so I could easily incorporate the appliqué into the kids’ pants. I actually really enjoy embroidering the bottom of one pant leg, just before the hem; it gives the pants a personal touch.
