Today I used the leftover fabric to sew a vest to go with the pants, and I also found a great blouse in my closet made of a cotton/linen blend that goes perfectly with the outfit. I’ve had the blouse for several years now; I sewed it myself back then and designed the pattern myself.

It’s really nice to have a creative hobby like this. My mom also sewed and designed her entire wardrobe all by herself. As a kid, I always “had” to wear the clothes she sewed and knitted herself, and as a teenager, I didn’t find it funny at all. But today, I can’t help but admire her. Her sewing machine was her whole world, and she was totally happy and in her element.
