Dear Josefa,
We’re looking after our 2-year-old grandson tomorrow. His parents have a long, important appointment they can’t take him to. So we’re busy getting everything ready and will enjoy the day with him tomorrow. On Sunday, I’ll be devoting plenty of time to my crafts. I’m really looking forward to that, too.
But it’s good that you mentioned in the subject line that November 29 is the first Sunday of Advent. Somehow, that hadn’t even crossed my mind. So next week, I’ll be putting together an Advent wreath, baking cookies, and putting up Christmas decorations. You’ve got to get into the Christmas spirit!
I wish everyone a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards, Ina
Tonight, as I always do on Fridays, I’m heading over to my in-laws’ to pick up Leo.
Tomorrow we’ll have a nice day out—maybe go to the park or the playground for a bit—and Sunday… we’ll see. Maybe I’ll unpack the Christmas decorations then :)
I also wish everyone here a lovely, cozy weekend. Time sure flew by—it’s already the first Sunday of Advent in just one week. I hadn’t really realized that yet.
Well, in any case, I’ll be baking gingerbread next week. And we’ve been sitting by candlelight all through November. It gets dark so early, so that really sets a cozy mood. Add a hot cup of spiced tea, and let the knitting needles clatter away.
Have a wonderful time, everyone, and enjoy whatever brings you joy.
I hadn’t really realized myself that the first Sunday of Advent is already next Sunday, and yet many of you here have already mentioned it with your patterns and ideas.
My home has been smelling like cinnamon for a few days now—I love that scent, so I treated myself to a cinnamon-scented candle.
Tomorrow I’ll go through my Christmas decorations and get them ready.
Otherwise, we’ll see what the weather’s like—depending on that, we might go for a walk and then curl up on the couch with some crafts; it’ll be really cozy by the fireplace with some mulled wine.
Ina
, enjoy your day with your grandchild—that’s such a wonderful thing, I think. I’m not a grandma yet, but that’s the plan now, and honestly… I can hardly wait 🤗
Well then, have a wonderful weekend, everyone—stay healthy! Ines
Tomorrow afternoon, along with other volunteers, we’ll be placing a lit candle in front of each grave at the cemetery, as we do every year for Eternity Sunday. Then on Sunday afternoon, we’ll attend one of the short church services and remember the deceased.
Other than that, I’m still busy with Christmas gifts for the grandkids in America, and the Advent calendar for our oldest isn’t finished yet either—so plenty to keep me busy for the whole weekend!
I wish everyone a relaxing weekend, and stay healthy!
Christina
Oh my goodness, the first Sunday of Advent is coming up soon. I really hadn't even realized that yet. Oh dear, I'll have to start baking Christmas cookies soon. My husband has already told his coworkers that his wife is baking. Well then. I haven't prepared anything yet. Help!
I don't even feel like it's Advent yet. There's no snow outside, even though it's supposed to be on its way soon. How quickly time is flying by now.
Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend full of crafting fun
Well, that’s it for embroidery today.
Time to tidy up the kitchen—no one’s done it yet today… and in the evening we’re going to church for my father-in-law’s “thirtieth.”
On Sunday, we’ll take a break from work and enjoy the day.
