Zipper in a jacket. Help

I now need to insert a zipper into a jacket. Unfortunately, one side of the jacket ends up wavy on the inside.
I always measured from the edge to make sure the distance from the outer edge to the lining is the same.

What could be causing the problem?

This could be due to uneven fabric feed. If your sewing machine doesn’t have a top feed, this kind of thing can happen. Pin it tightly and securely; you might want to hold the bottom layer of fabric in place a bit—then it should work out just fine.

It’s not sewn yet—I’ve just pinned it together. I bought matching sewing thread.
