Upcycling Shirts + Upcycling Clothing

Dear users, dear authors,
It seems you have lots of ideas for upcycling clothing, shirts, etc., so I’m starting a thread for your ideas. Have fun!

I turned one of my daughter’s shirts into a pair of pants for my son.

It was a special one. The staff at a music festival they organized wore it.





And I sewed this bag for myself from a pair of old jeans



I sewed a pillowcase for my grandma out of a blouse. That way, I didn’t have to sew buttonholes (I’m not very good at that)

These are some old, discarded towels of mine that I turned into a bathroom quilt





The green one used to be a two-piece dress of mine, and the red one was a wrap blouse of mine
A shirt quilt for my son-in-law—it’s made from shirts that belonged to his father and grandfather. My daughter brought them to me and asked me to make him a quilt out of them. I incorporated the chest pockets diagonally into the design



Sewn today. It used to be a linen blazer. 

Oh, you guys are amazing!!! These are such great and clever ideas, dear Petra and dear Akela. These items get to live on in a new form. I’m really impressed by your creativity. It’s amazing what you can make out of old things.

@Ina: Yes, I stamped it. I found the idea on a blog online and tried it out right away.

Now I’m planning to make some more with spring and Christmas themes, etc. Because there’s actually a pair of pants to go with the jacket—lol

In the meantime, there has been a new pot cover and new little pigs made from denim

I cut strips from old T-shirts and crocheted them into baby booties.

Another pair of old jeans. Hidden inside is an old flower vase. Sewn in less than an hour, this fall-themed gift is being given away today.
