Basket for my walker

I actually made the lining for this basket years ago; I just wanted to show it to you. The inner basket is sewn from felt carpet, so nothing falls through the holes, and if I need to, I can remove the lining in one easy step because I sewed handles onto it.

The inner basket was tailored to fit perfectly.

I sewed myself a rain cape that's big and long enough to cover the basket too, and if that still isn't enough, I have this bag

Yes, that’s patent fabric—you saw it right. My youngest granddaughter gave me the idea for the two dolphins; they’re her favorite animals, along with polar bears and penguins. When I was sewing the bag, we’d been to the Nuremberg Zoo shortly before—she saw the dolphin show, and that’s when the dolphins had to go on Grandma’s bag

As a matter of principle, I don’t sew for strangers; I did that for a few years in an alterations shop I ran, and since I gave it up, that’s over. Now I look very closely at the people who get something from me; they have to value and respect handmade work.
