Liner for the bread basket

My bread basket really needed a new cover—the old one is already a few years old and has become unsightly from all the washing—so I sewed a new liner for the bread basket

Nothing is safe from you. In no time at all, the bread basket has a new cover. It’s great that you can whip this up so quickly. Personally, I wouldn’t have combined these two fabrics, but that’s just a matter of taste. Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring us.

Ina, I’m always using up fabric scraps, so sometimes I end up with fabrics that don’t seem to go together at first glance—because my scrap box, I feel like, isn’t getting any emptier, but just keeps getting fuller :-) I’m sure you know what I mean with your yarn, too.
Today, for example, I sewed myself a pair of pajama pants, also from jersey and other fabric scraps—it’s important to me that they’re comfortable.

The bread basket looks really great now. I probably wouldn’t have combined those fabrics either, but I think it’s great that you’re using up so many scraps. I used to sew a lot with my grandmother, and it was always important to her to use up all the fabric and not just throw scraps away. That’s why it’s become very important to me too, and I try to make the best use of all my fabric whenever possible—even if the pieces don’t always match perfectly.
