Embroidery from My Childhood

When I was a child, I had this embroidery box, an embroidery hoop, and various little doilies. Some of the embroidered pieces or works in progress still exist.

I made this needle case in second grade and this pillowcase in fourth grade; I still have both of them

I just bought a new embroidery hoop.
Back then, we also had needlework class that included embroidery. We had knitting class, too—we started knitting a skirt, but it was never finished,

I found my very first knitting project—a doll’s scarf. It’s almost 60 years old now and keeps my teddy bear warm.



I also made a little craft pouch like Akela’s back in school. It was prettily embroidered with my name. But unfortunately, it went missing at some point. Such a shame. Back then, it was the kind of fabric that was perfect for cross-stitch, and I still remember exactly what it looked like.
