Amigurumi

I absolutely love crocheting and designing amigurumi—small or even larger stuffed animals. I’m always amazed at what delightful little creatures can be created with just a little yarn and stuffing.
Sometimes, though, I hit a creative slump. What I mean is: I have an uncontrollable urge to crochet, start something, rip it out, start something else, and rip it out again. I’m sure this happens to everyone at some point.
Right?
Are there any little animals you’d like to see? That I could try designing?

Hi Streifgetier,
I think this goldfish is really cute, but the pattern is a bit overpriced. I think it could be a little cheaper. Is there a similar one that’s more affordable? Best regards, Karo.

Oh, that fish is so cute.
I’d have to give it a try… and I will :-)

@Streifgetier
You have so many beautiful things in your shop. They’re all totally cute and cuddly and really “appealing.” And you also have so many different animals. That makes it really hard to choose.

Have you ever thought about selling your amigurumis finished? Since they’re so beautiful and also your own design, you might even be able to get more for them than the material value plus your time. That’s probably moving toward arts and crafts, designer stuffed animals, so to speak.

I mean, you even manage to make a bee or bumblebee look nice and cuddly.
Those aren’t exactly animals that you’d normally just think of wanting to cuddle with.

there are lots of owl amigurumis, but I haven’t seen one like this before
now that’s innovative!
maybe you could make an owl’s nest with young owls to go with it, being fed or something.

You really do have talent, not just for creating patterns
but also for design and execution,
after all, it’s not just about the technical craft side, which you’ve clearly got down
it’s also about everything around it, that they look so sweet and fit the baby schema so perfectly
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kindchenschema
people respond to that, not just me : )
that also “works” with stuffed animals, as it says further down in the Wiki article

with you, you can just tell that your heart is really in it too.

I wouldn’t write this if I didn’t truly mean it.
I just thought it was so sweet how happy you were earlier today in the other thread,
because we liked a few of your things there

Thank you so much :- )
Yes—it’s true. It always makes me incredibly happy when I read or hear that people like what I make. :- )
Actually, I also have a huuuuge list of things I absolutely still want to crochet. It ranges from insects to reptiles, foxes, raccoons, an alphabet, numbers, and so on and so forth.
But… despite the list, it’s sometimes a little hard to choose the next project. Or you start something… and what you wanted to make doesn’t look anything like what it was supposed to be.
Olli, for example https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/1003/olli-mit-dem-maeusehunger-amigurumi-anleitung-haekeln wasn’t actually supposed to be an owl at all, but a cat. But then the head was finished… and somehow it didn’t look cat-like at all :- )
Or the little monkey https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/1003/olli-mit-dem-maeusehunger-amigurumi-anleitung-haekeln was actually supposed to be a dog. But… again, the head was finished, I showed it to my daughter and asked, “So, what do you think it’s going to be?” She replied, “Obviously a monkey. Even a blind person can see that.” That’s how plans quickly get thrown overboard and changed... :- )

If I may chime in: As for the fish, I personally think it would be a bit unfair to recreate it and offer a cheaper pattern, since the original is also available here at crazypatterns. And it’s so unusual that you can’t really argue it’s your “own idea” or anything like that—unlike, for example, all the baby Chucks floating around here. In my opinion, doing that with the fish would constitute intellectual property theft...

Of course, I wouldn’t copy them exactly. That would be unfair to the original creator.
But I’ve never crocheted a fish before. That would be quite a challenge :-)
