Diamond Painting

I'm done—it took a whole three days to glue on all these little stones.
I needed a break from crocheting, and this is what I came up with.

There were exactly 10,200 stones

Gorgeous! And what a lot of work! Did you place the stones with tweezers? And how do you keep them from slipping?

The picture itself is on an adhesive sheet, and the stones stick to it. You use a tool that’s kind of like a pen to pick up the stones.
The stones are about the size of computer confetti.
It’s really fun, but now I need a break from gluing for a while :-)

Wow. I don’t know if I’d have that kind of patience.
If it were bigger, maybe, but this small… no, I don’t think I could do it.

A great picture

huge compliments on this patient and painstaking work! The picture looks wonderful—you chose a beautiful design, too. I think “craft projects” like this, where you don’t have to think much but just have to carefully line up one stone after another, can be very relaxing. You can forget about the world around you and immerse yourself completely in the work.

I understand that you want to do something else for now. But later on, we’re all looking forward to seeing another picture. What are you going to do with the picture now? Will you frame it and hang it on the wall?

Thank you, Ina, that’s exactly how it was: just sticking, no thinking, and above all... I often lost track of time when I was actually supposed to be in bed already *laughs*. It’s addictive.
That was a set of four that I once ordered from a.....
All the pictures will be nicely framed. I just don’t have any that large, so I’ll put 2 x 2 pictures in one frame; it fits, I’ve already measured it.
The designs are all sunsets.
But now it’s my sweater’s turn again. I switch things up pretty often.

Where did you get your motifs from?

Hey Babett, do you mean where I ordered this? It was on sale at a....on—the set of four. I think I ordered it last year, but I don’t remember exactly.
It’s addictive, I know. Let’s see when I’ll tackle the next picture.
