Sewing masks

If any of you still want to sew masks and can’t find any elastic (since that’s the new toilet paper ;-) :-))—jersey works too. I had some scraps left over from the last shirt I sewed, so I cut 2-cm-wide strips from a piece and sewed them in. Since they’re so narrow, these “bands” curl up on their own, so you don’t need to sew them down or neaten the edges. My husband tried one on right away and said they fit well and nothing pinches or presses.

That’s a great idea, Akela. And I heard on the radio that you can also use bias tape.

I used leftover Zpaghetti yarn—it works great! It doesn’t chafe behind the ears!

Thanks, mowi19! My youngest granddaughter saw the mask and asked me via video chat: “Grandma, please make me one like that too, but with rainbow colors.” So Grandma sat down and let the embroidery machine chug away again :-)
