Women’s Carnival 2020: Celebrate or Stay Home?

Dear users, dear authors,
how are things going for you with Weiberfastnacht 2020?

Women’s Carnival will take place without me—I’ve caught a cold, and I’ve been feeling under the weather all day because my head is spinning. But even aside from that, I’m not really into it; here in the Main/Wein-Franconian region, it’s not really a big deal anyway.

I’m not really a fan of Carnival. We’re going to the parade at noon today, but only because my grandson’s preschool is participating and we were invited.

After that, we’ll head back home, and that’ll be it for us this year—no more “Halfa” or “Helau.”

I’ll inevitably be at a huge Weiberfastnacht party, but luckily only working in the kitchen!

Up here in the far north, we don’t have anything like that. All we’re noticing here is an increase in tourist traffic :-) There sure are a lot of “Carnival refugees.”

I’m not really a big fan of Carnival either, but we watched the Cologne Carnival show today anyway. There were some funny speakers, but it was much better a few years ago.
