I only found one tube scarf / loop for men in the shop

You’ll have to adjust the pattern and colors in any case, and with every loop pattern, to the wishes of the person who’s going to wear it

I think you can use stitch patterns too, as long as they’re not too playful—muted colors and a coarser, sturdier wool.

But when I look around here, I see far more men wearing fine knits than chunky knits. Maybe it’s because of the area, or their age *smile*

What’s the difference between fine-knit and chunky-knit again?

Fine knits are made from thin (fine) wool, chunky knits from thick (coarse) wool :-)
