Dear users and authors,
which material and color do you like best right now?

Right now, I’m working “on the side” with my treasures that I’ve brought back from various trade shows and yarn festivals. They were all looking for a new home :-))

Mostly, these are skeins of linen, merino, alpaca, and/or mulberry silk/silk. The yarn is beautiful, soft, and incredibly expensive, so you always have to think very carefully about what you want to do with it :-)

When it comes to colors, I usually stick to neutral base colors (light gray heather, beige, blue in all shades), but I won’t say no to anything that catches my eye in fresh spring green tones either ;-)

I love all bright colors, but especially red, orange, and yellow. Right now, I’m knitting a red sweater out of virgin wool, a pair of baby booties out of colorful mottled sock yarn, and a cowl out of orange baby merino. I’m really loving these projects right now because the yarn is cozy and soft and a joy to work with.

Right now, I’m still knitting wrist warmers from Silk Mohair and similar materials. I’ve noticed that not all brands are equally easy to work with and that the stitch definition also turns out differently—fuzzier and more compact, or a bit looser. In terms of color, I’ve been leaning toward more muted and neutral tones: beige, dark red, and, for a change, a lovely teal. I’ve now been commissioned to knit another pair in a spring-like green-yellow, and I’m curious to see how that will look. In general, my colors are warm reds through violet and blue, from denim blue to dark navy.

Right now, I’m knitting a wide scarf using a wide variety of materials and colors to show that you can easily combine yarns from different dyers. One of them is an alpaca-silk blend that’s incredibly soft.
