Bind Off with a Crochet Hook

Yesterday I came up with a (for me) completely new idea—or rather, a new way—to bind off while knitting. I’m going to do it this way from now on using a crochet hook. It’s super easy!

The stitches stay on the knitting needle, of course, and then I simply pull the second-to-last stitch through the last stitch using the crochet hook.

Has anyone else tried this before?

Yes, Moni—I actually did it on my scarf.

The advantage: I think the finish looks neater than when using the knitting needle.

It felt a little awkward for the first few stitches, but then it went much better than using two knitting needles.

I almost always do it this way, because when I use knitting needles, it usually ends up too tight for me.

It’s interesting that I only just figured this out. Yeah, that’s right—it automatically turned out much looser.

I only cast off with a crochet hook—it’s quick and looks great
