The thing with the owl amigurumis is really nice
but a trend like that usually doesn’t last forever, so you have to look around for more possibilities in good time
and especially when the old trend, in this case the crocheted owl, is still in full bloom.
I’m in favor of us creating a new trend: Hamsters
Now that would be a challenge, wouldn’t it?
Crazypatterns creates a new crochet trend and conquers the handmade and pattern scene
so how about it?
if you don’t like the hamster idea, then something else. :)
All right,
then no hamsters.
I think cuddly fish are a bit unusual, because a typical goldfish probably wouldn’t really like being cuddled in real life,
but I don’t think that’s really the point of amigurumi.
but we could make more cat amigurumis.
I’m surprised that isn’t a trend,
since cats are so widespread on the internet as LOL cats and things like that.
But maybe the internet is already saturated with cats.
Usually, figures like that become trends because they can be shown on all sorts of things and then get hyped up by someone. I think that’s why the owl trend has stuck around so stubbornly for years
I’d also think fish would be really great, or seahorses too.
@Hamster: What are you crocheting or knitting at the moment?
@all: By the way, are these fish amigurumis still coming from the hype around “Finding Nemo”?
The merchandising business is still doing really well.
You could also do penguins and stuff, because of all that “Happy Feet” stuff / the films.
And penguins always look great too.
What about polar bears? Knut the polar bear had a huge fan base, even though, as far as I know, he’s no longer with us.
Has that hype already died down?
