I had a similar experience with my grandson, too. We were visiting my friend, and they have their own excavator (his parents were farmers). Jax could have taken a ride, but he didn’t dare. Admiring it from the outside—that was fine. But getting in… and with a stranger… no way. I wonder if he’d react the same way today (he’s already over 5 years old now)? I don’t think so—he’d be right in there digging with it in a heartbeat.
I’ll definitely still be busy with my granny blanket this week. It’s time to sew the granny squares together and weave in the ends. I’ve put the bottom ones away. It’s now going to be 5 granny squares high and 6 granny squares wide.
Otherwise, I’m unfortunately spending a lot of time at work (currently 9 hours or more), so not much else is happening around here all week. But by the end of the month, the program switchover will be over and I’ll be back to my normal work hours, which means I’ll have the whole afternoon for my hobbies.
