I'm knitting the fox hat. Knitting stitches together for the decreases looks weird. How do you do it?

Good morning, what does your project look like? Maybe you could take a picture and show it to us?
When decreasing, I always knit 2 stitches together, always in the same place—for example, every 2 rows. Or if I want the stitch pattern to go in the other direction, I slip one stitch, knit the next one, and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted one.
