Owls are good as decoration
as children's toys
for cuddling
as gifts
But of course one owl isn't enough, then you really need a whole owl family
preferably in different sizes, shapes, colors, and styles.
I don't really know where the owl trend came from either
but it's probably like cat pictures on the internet
at some point it started, and now everyone does it
so you just have to join in or get swept along
or you create your own trend
like I tried to do over in the other thread
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/forum/topic/1148/hamster-trend-jetzt-neu-hamster-haekeln
I don't really think I'll manage to start a new trend all by myself
but you can always give it a try.
@kimbaby
why don't you like owls?
the owls on Crazypatterns are really cute, and there's plenty to choose from
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/search?keyword=eule
there's even an owl comforter blanket, I only just discovered it
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/964/haekelanleitung-schnuffeltuch-eule-44
I don't actually have anything against owls, I just think all those owl amigurumis make the "amigurumi scene" a bit monotonous
but on the other hand
if you look at this, for example

Lotti & Lotta -- Crochet Pattern
Quote:
Lotti & Lotta are mama owl and daughter owl. They won this year's hat championship and now want to become even better known. Next year, of course, they want to take part again, and they'll need new hats by then.
End quote
that's totally cute
someone really put a lot of effort into it, not just with the pattern, but also with a story to go with it
and there are owl bibs too

ok, I think the owl trend will stick around for quite a while yet
but then it would be nice if there were at least new patterns for other amigurumis etc. every now and then
