Problem translating the yarn weight

Hi,

I’m currently in the process of translating a crochet pattern, but I’ve unfortunately run into a small problem that I can’t seem to solve right now.

I hope you can help me with this.

My pattern specifies yarn weights #20 and #40. However, I have no idea what that means. What I do know is that I need to crochet with a 1 mm and a 0.6 mm hook, so the yarn can’t be too thick.

Hi Sabrina,

I’m only familiar with sizes 20 and 40 in relation to crochet yarn or filet crochet yarn—
for example, Anchor Artiste. The thin hook sizes would also work for those.
