Dear users, dear authors,
how are you?
What are you up to?
How’s the weather?
Is there any good food around?
Do you have any craft goals or weekly plans?
Let me know.
I’ve decided to continue night school for the Matura (Abitur) in September after taking a break this semester. There isn’t all that much left. Now I’m studying, reviewing, and seeing what I still remember from what I’ve learned. On the side, I’m knitting—this time a lace scarf—from two old balls of yarn I have left over from a special sale at the Christmas market. The weather’s been mixed; things are pretty laid-back at work since my boss isn’t here this week, and yet again we’re having sausage and pasta salad to eat (for about a month now)—a dish my son, unfortunately, can’t get enough of; he asks for it almost every day.
I’m doing well. We’re in the midst of preparations for my
little daughter finishing elementary school.
Over Pentecost, we’re heading to Wetzlar for a few days.
The weather’s been mixed, but warm.
I’m working on farewell gifts for the teacher and the aides.
AND.......
...... I bought some yarn. I needed new yarn for the farewell gifts because I didn’t have any
of this type.
Now it’s official—my doctor has banned me from crocheting AND knitting. The nerves, tendons, and muscles in my left hand are so irritated that, if I’m lucky, I’ll just need a splint; otherwise, I’ll have to go under the knife. For now, I’ve packed all my knitting supplies into the farthest corner of the shelf so I don’t see them and get tempted—because that really isn’t helping me at all. I’ve simply knitted way too much in the past.
Oh dear, Aleka... I’m so sorry—I hope you recover quickly, too.
I’m doing pretty well.
I actually typed up another pattern this week and took pictures for it—woo-hoo!
Now I just have to finish the German translation, and then I’ll finally have something finished again.
...And as soon as my yarn cakes arrive, I’m going to make two baby blankets for my son (it still feels weird to say that, hehe) and my nephew/niece :)
The weather is WONDERFUL! And by that I mean rain, rain, rain. We planted our lawn yesterday, so I’m happy about every single drop of water that falls from the sky ;)
What we’re having for dinner today is still up in the air... But since we still have a lot to do, I think it’ll end up being doner kebab or pizza—that’s okay once in a while ;)
Akela, I hope you feel better soon too. That doesn’t sound very promising. But summer is coming up first, and I’m sure you’ll find other activities that you enjoy as well.
I’m doing very well. My friend is heading home again tomorrow after spending 10 days with us. I’m enjoying the time with her, since she lives in northern Germany and I live in the south. By the way, she brought some great cooking ideas with her. Yesterday we had asparagus pizza, which was super delicious. It’s a recipe from the Thermomix recipe collection.
And then there’s homemade ice cream every day made in the Thermomix, consisting only of fruit, cashews, and a little xylitol. I experimented with that recipe myself for a long time until it finally tasted really good. And now it’s the best and healthiest ice cream in the world.
