Help with a knitting pattern

Hi everyone,
I just tried to start knitting a scarf, but unfortunately I’m already stuck right at the beginning. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me :)

My problem is that on the 2nd row, I don’t end up with 25 stitches, but only 22, and I’m “missing” one stitch before moving
the stitch marker. Here is the pattern:

Row 1: Slip 3 sts as if to purl (FV), knit 1, knit 2 together, yarn over, move the stitch marker, knit the remaining stitches to the end of the row (=21 sts)

Row 2: K6, yarn over, 2x (K3, yarn over, K2tog), K1, move the stitch marker, knit the remaining stitches to the end of the row (=25 sts)

Dear Bibi,
Have you tried asking the author directly yet? Why not send them a private message with your question? At a quick glance, I can’t see where the extra stitches in the 2nd row are supposed to come from either. Maybe a yarn over was missed in the pattern or something similar—the person who wrote the pattern is best suited to help you with this.

Good morning, contacting the author is the best idea.

To be able to knit it myself, I’m missing the number of stitches for the cast-on. You only say to place the marker and knit until the end.

How many stitches do you have on the needle at the start of Row 1?

At the beginning, I cast on 21 stitches. Then, in the next row, I knit 15 stitches, place the stitch marker, and knit 6 stitches.
Then I continue with the two rows I had already written.

I also only get 22 stitches at the end of row 2

Cast on 21 stitches

1.R: 3 sts slip as if to purl (FV), 1 knit stitch, k2tog, 1 yo, move SM, knit stitches to the end of the row (=21 sts)

after the yarn over I knit another 15 knit stitches. Then I also have 21 stitches

When I work row 2 (wrong side row) with 6 sts knit, 1 yo (increase), 3 sts knit, 1 yo, k2tog (now I have 12 sts on the right needle and 10 sts on the left needle). 

Now I knit another 3 sts knit + 1 yo + knit 2 sts together, then for me it’s the case that I have to knit one stitch + the yarn over together.

Then follows 1 stitch knit, move SM, 4 knit sts to the end of the row = then I have 22 stitches.

There is only one stitch as an increase. Either it’s a misunderstanding on our part or there is an error in the pattern. Best to write to the author.
