Patterns

I ordered about 4–5 patterns from you. Could you perhaps explain how to keep the number of pages from getting too high? For example, I have 16 pages for a jacket. Thanks
 

Hi norataki, I think every vendor has their own ideas about how long a pattern should be. Some keep it short, others tend to be longer. Not all of them are that long.

Hi, it always depends on whether the pattern is designed for beginners or advanced crocheters. The ones for beginners are usually a bit longer.

I don’t know which patterns you bought, but the best thing to do would be to read through them once, note down the pages that are important to you, and then print out just those specific pages.

Of course, it’s a hassle for you to have to invest a few minutes of your time first, but always remember that there are crocheters who rely on more detailed patterns with lots of pictures.

The more details a crochet project has, the longer it will naturally be.

Or write directly to the designer who created it to ask if there happens to be a shorter version that can be sent to you.

Hi, I also have a helpful tip. It’s clear that the patterns can be more extensive, depending on the project. Before printing, you should look at the pattern you purchased on your computer and note which pages you actually need to follow—and then print only those.

If you’d rather have the entire pattern but still want to save ink and paper, printing two pages per sheet might be sufficient. To do this, select the appropriate print settings in the print menu of Adobe Reader, which you use to open the PDF file (see image). You might want to try printing two pages per sheet first to see if everything is clearly legible.
