Macramé—does anyone here do that, by any chance?

Hi everyone
here’s the Wikipedia link for macramé, in case anyone isn’t familiar with it.
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makramee
Does anyone here do it, by any chance? I think I might like it—at least, it looks like something I’d enjoy. I haven’t tried it yet.
Of course, there are also tons of videos on YouTube about it.
I like this one.
I know how to braid; I used to do that all the time as a kid.

The woman in the video seems to be using regular wool.
I think I’d like to give that a try.
As far as I can tell, there aren’t any macramé patterns in the shop?

Doesn’t anyone here really do macramé?

I once made myself a coupler dog leash. I’m very happy with it and have been using it for years now.

I’ve never done macramé before. @muetzekatze, but if you make a blanket with it, you might finish faster than with crocheted granny squares—at least once you get the hang of macramé.
@sweepies: the cord turned out really nice.

Aren’t all those friendship bracelets and paracord bracelets kind of macramé, too?
Just in a new way—not like the macramé we used to know from back then.
My grandma always used to knot little baskets that flower pots would fit into so you could hang them up. Although, with the new textile yarns and great colors, that might actually be nice again now in spring and summer, right?

I just remembered something else—I also had a book about this as a child:

mach mit mit Mak und Ramee :-D It still exists, too.

Yes, they’re made using a simple knot. I made myself a macramé bag years ago. It’s actually very easy. I wish you lots of luck and hope you have fun with it!

No, I’ve never made it, or even tried it.
Sometimes I make tatting lace doilies.
