Blog Update—New Features & Overview

Dear Users,
Dear Authors,

A new version of our blog was released today. Each of you now has a personal blog section; for authors, the right-hand column also displays three top patterns with links to the shop.

A link to your own blog looks like this: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/blog/from/Operator
where “Operator” is a username. 
Here’s another example—Berlidesign’s blog: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/blog/from/berlidesign

To start a new post, click the green “+Start Blogging” button in the top right corner.



Next to it are two more buttons that let you navigate to your own blog or to all blogs.

Further up is the standard navigation bar “Store | Profile | Blog | Collections,” which lets you easily navigate between the different sections of a user account.

Each blog post can be saved as a draft or published right away. You can enable or disable publication later. You can also edit or delete your own posts at any time. You can access the corresponding menu via the small arrow in the top right corner of each post.



Authors who write on the blog receive additional promotion through their own posts in the form of links to their own shop and a list of 3 top products on the right-hand side.

I have a question about the three links to my own shop that appear on the blog.
Is there a way to customize them myself, or do they change automatically?
In my case, they were a Christmas pattern, a pattern I’ve only sold once (so not necessarily my top products), and one that’s, well...

And one more request. Unfortunately, it’s still the case that you can’t upload images when using Internet Explorer. Could you please, please fix that? I always have to use Chrome to upload images, but that’s not really an option for me—on the one hand, I get bombarded with ads, and on the other, my posts are often moved around after I write them, so the images aren’t where I wanted them anymore.

I’d really enjoy writing more if there were a way to fix this.
Otherwise, it’s a great idea—I’m excited to see all the interesting things that will be posted here.

I’m happy to answer your questions: 30 current bestsellers are selected from your shop, and from these 30, a few patterns are chosen at random to be displayed on the blog. The number of patterns is currently 3 on overview pages and 5 on blog pages. This number may still change later—we’re considering adjusting the number of displayed items to the number of blog posts or the length of the blog so that the main content and the right-hand side are roughly the same length.

I’ll pass on the bug that occurs in IE to the developers. It will definitely be fixed.

I’m still pretty new here, but I’m really excited about CP.
I’ve now written and published my first blog post.
Here’s my question:
Can I only write posts on my own blog?
I’ve noticed there are posts that aren’t in the author’s own blog, but in the
general blog.
If I write general tips and tricks, it makes more sense for them
to reach a wider audience...

Did you write that in your blog too, and then CP moves it to the general blog?

 

Phew... Hmm... I hadn't paid attention to that. So I always go to "Blog" at the top, and then I automatically end up on "All Blogs". Then I click the "+" and start writing.

The "Home" page is where CP later moves the blogs to.
