Dear users, dear authors,
how do you decorate your Christmas tree? Who skips the Christmas tree altogether?
Let me know.

I’ll admit, I don’t decorate a tree because we never have one.

Our tree is decorated with colorful glass ornaments, and it looks a little different every year. A tree is simply a must for us.

Best wishes, Gabi

Hello and good morning!

We won’t be putting up a tree this year because we’re going on vacation on December 23.
Otherwise, we always decorate our tree in burgundy and white.

But we do decorate the apartment for Christmas.

Two years ago, I crocheted a Christmas tree. It’s about 60 cm tall.

I’ll take a photo of it and post it in the gallery.

Best regards, Heike

Until last year, my husband always did the decorating while I kept the kids busy. This year, we want to decorate the tree with the kids for the first time.
And knowing my two kids, it’s going to be colorful and sparkly.

I think a crocheted tree is great. Yes, please share a photo!

Not at all—I still don’t have room for a Christmas tree.

Instead, I’ll decorate the windowsills and tables.
I’m not sure exactly how yet.

At our place, we only have a tree every 3 years.  Because we always rotate where we celebrate. One year at my in-laws’, one year at my parents’, and one year at our place.

My mother actually always decorates it in red and gold with just a few baubles. At my mother-in-law’s, the tree is always very colorful, with what feels like 1,000 baubles. You can hardly see the tree.

And when I decorate the tree, it’s always decorated pretty subtly; the colors change,  but  an FC St.  Pauli bauble always hangs on it.

We probably won’t really decorate our place this year either, since we’re moving in mid-December.

We go on vacation every year over Christmas, so we have an artificial tree that we take with us already decorated.
It’s very simple—dark red—and the tree topper is a lighthouse :)

I don’t usually like artificial trees, but I really like our vacation Christmas tree.
It’s always nice when we take it out of storage—it means vacation is just around the corner, and soon it’ll be out of its bag and decorating our vacation home.

This year we’re not going away until after Christmas, so we’ve decided to keep the tradition and let it decorate our home instead.

Best regards, Petra

When I’ve put up a Christmas tree (which has been very rare in recent years), I’ve always decorated it in classic red and gold. This year, though, I’ve snagged both my mom’s beautiful artificial Christmas tree and her Christmas tree ornaments (which she heroically brought back from Kazakhstan and some of which are older than I am). So this year, I’ll probably be decorating a Christmas tree again—and I’ll make it totally colorful, just like the ones from my childhood and later at my mom’s house.

Since on Christmas Eve it’s usually only our middle daughter who comes home—the oldest is celebrating with her family, and our son lives in the U.S.—our Christmas tree has gotten smaller. I like glass: as ornaments, little birds, little angels, icicles… Then there are colored ornaments, wooden figurines, crocheted little angels… my collection of Christmas decorations is quite impressive, though not necessarily to my husband’s delight.

Oh, and about the auto-correct: Of course I love hanging little birds on the tree! (That’s what happens when you don’t proofread your text!)

We’ve set up a totally fluffy Christmas tree with our ornaments :) And we’re taking it with us to the Kreativ Messe in Stuttgart next week. Here’s a little sneak peek at this magnificent tree :)
