(Hiking) Seat Pad - crocheted and felted
wonderful for picnics, etc.

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Whether you take it along in your backpack or use it at home on a garden bench, a felted little seat cushion like this is simply practical, keeps dirt and moisture away, and protects against the cold. Made a bit smaller, it could also be used as a
potholder.

We need:

Felt yarn made of 100% virgin wool, 50 g – 50 m, according to the label for needle sizes 7–8; used here: crochet hook 8.0 and Filzi (Schoeller+Stahl), for a seat cushion approx. 40 cm x 40 cm:

  • 300 g main color or desired colors – using up leftovers is also possible
  • 50 g contrast color
Also: crochet hook 8.0, yarn needle for weaving in ends, measuring tape, scissors.

****************************************************************

And a picnic blanket like this—or for snuggling up at home—is simply wonderful:

Natural Knitted Blanket - crocheted border - easy

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This knitted blanket is pure relaxation even while knitting and is quite easy to knit. It consists of 9 squares that are crocheted together. Finished measurements: approx. 130 cm x 130 cm.

The PDF short pattern consists of 2 pages and includes 3 images from the image gallery (a knitting/crochet course is not included, but a link tip is).

These skills are required:

  • Knitting: cast on stitches, purl and knit stitches, bind off stitches.
  • Crochet:   chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches.
  • Crochet pieces together.

We need
:
e.g., Hauswolle by Schoeller+Stahl (60% wool, 40% PAC, 100 g – 200 m, for needle size 3.5–4.0); gauge according to the label 18.5 sts x 27 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm;
or Biolana by Mondial (100% organic sheep’s wool, 50 g – 100 m, for needle size 4.5–5.5), gauge according to the label 15 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm: 1000 g in natural white or similar / 200 g in olive green
measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

Used here: knitting needle size 5.0 (so the blanket becomes cozier) and crochet hook size 4.0 for crocheting together and edging.

A bag is a must for a picnic. After all, you need some way to carry all those tasty treats.
This one has room for quite a bit. It is knitted from cotton, and it comes in two different versions—thick or thin cotton. The amount of yarn and needle size depend on what you use.
An additional stitch marker is helpful.
A knitting chart for the pattern is included, but the pattern is also written out round by round.

You can find the pattern here.

You can never have too many bags, so they’re related to shoes :-)
So why not make one yourself for a change?

It’s also very practical if you’re planning a picnic - then the bag matches the blanket.

This bag has a size of about 47 x 35 cm.

For a romantic picnic in the park, a woman definitely needs a beautiful shawl that drapes around her shoulders.
The Fuego crochet shawl is just the thing for that.

This airy, lightweight shawl is crocheted from top to bottom. Since the pattern consists only of single crochet stitches, chain stitches, and double crochet stitches, it is wonderfully suitable for beginners.

Materials needed:

  • approx. 200 grams or approx. 750–800 meters of yarn (e.g., lace yarn, sock yarn, or a “Bobbel” made of plied yarn)
  • crochet hook size 3–3.5
  • scissors
  • sewing needle
Dimensions of the shawl after completion: approx. 180 x 80 cm.
The pattern comprises 10 pages and includes written instructions as well as charts and a schematic drawing.

Difficulty level: easy.

And best of all: For a short time, you can save up to 25% on the pattern price!

You can fill this beautiful, colorful bag with all kinds of treats—everything you need for a great picnic. Maybe a bottle of wine, pastries or snacks, some bread... for the rest, you’d better take a cooler bag.

  • The bag is crocheted exclusively with single crochet stitches and chain stitches.

I have explained everything in detail in a step-by-step pattern with lots of pictures.

A picnic in the park? With the kids? And maybe the dog would like to come along too?

Then my ball definitely has to come along. What fun.

This ball is crocheted from lots of granny squares and then joined together. It is filled with a balloon.
That makes the ball perfect for outdoors and indoors. Once washed and refilled, you can use the ball back inside the house after all the outdoor fun.

Suitable materials include leftover yarn, blends, sock yarn, or any cotton yarn.

My ball in the pattern (product Summer-2016) was crocheted from 100% cotton with a yardage of 85 m / 50 g and, fully inflated, has a circumference of approx. 66 cm. The longer the yardage, the smaller the ball.

Stop by and take a look, it’s definitely worth it

If you want to enjoy the sunshine outside on the garden wall,
even though it’s actually still a bit too cool for that, this seat cushion, braided from knitted tubes in colorful gradients, is absolutely perfect as a seat pad.
Easy to knit, and the detailed diagram helps with the braiding.
Yarn scraps are perfect for this!

Even the littlest ones need their own little bag for picnic gear!
An apple, a cookie + a small water bottle also fit in this little mini shopper ♥

Crocheted from Catania (or similar cotton) with a 2.5 mm hook, this super-sweet
little bag will be about 20 cm wide, 13 cm tall, and 8 cm deep.
