Dear community,
I wish you a wonderful weekend with plenty of time for crafting. Do you have plans?
Thanks, Josefa—I wish you and everyone else here a wonderful weekend, too.
Yes, I dove into my downloads and am now going to work through some older projects. I need to empty out my scrap box—the Advent calendar always seems to come out of nowhere, and I’ll need the space.
It’ll be a quiet weekend—it’s really hot, so I won’t be doing much outside.
Dear Josefa, I hope you have a lovely, relaxing weekend, too.
As for me, my crafting has once again taken a back seat. While I was visiting my aunt, I was busy stitching away, but now that I’m back home, something else always seems to come up.
Today we’re going on a bike ride in the cooler Swabian Alb; I don’t have anything planned for tomorrow yet, but it’s supposed to get a few degrees cooler then.

Did you watch the solar eclipse? We were all out in the field with a cardboard viewing tube. It was super exciting

Weekend greetings from Petra
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too :)
My scarf is slowly nearing completion, and so is the yarn.
I really hope I have enough yarn.
My raglan is coming along slowly—it’s turning into a sweater instead of a jacket after all 😉. Right now it’s 27° and slightly cloudy, with a 10% chance of rain—but we won’t get any here anyway. Sunday is supposed to be really hot again, and things should cool down a bit starting Monday. Hopefully the weather will still be pleasant, though, because we’re going away for four days—I’m bringing my knitting along—I usually only have time in the evening while watching TV. 😄
We didn’t see the solar eclipse, but I’m sure it was exciting.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
Best, Regina
I was just outside. The thermometer on my patio reads 38 degrees. So I just quickly went out to hang up the laundry and then back inside to escape the heat. I feel bad for my fruits and vegetables in the garden, too. The apples are so hot you can practically pick them right off the tree, and the bell peppers have sunburn. Even watering doesn’t help. At least I’m giving them some encouragement and motivating them to hang in there :-) It’s supposed to get cooler starting Monday.
Best regards, Ina

I also had laundry out on the balcony—it dried in no time. My balcony plants are crying out for water, too; I always water them in the evening, but this year we didn’t grow any tomatoes, peppers, or other vegetables in large pots—it’s just too much work, and it wasn’t worth it last year either. Here’s what the weather looks like right now:

It’s been pretty gloomy here all day, but it hasn’t rained yet.
Since I have limited space on the balcony and more and more plants, this year I planted the tomatoes in the balcony planters among the summer flowers. The planters hang on the outside of the railing, so they get some rain. It was just a test to see if the tomatoes could handle it, and then this summer came—always hot, always full sun, and no rain. I’ve never had as many tomatoes as I have this year! They just keep coming, and they’re super delicious, too.
I water them in the morning on the balcony—it faces south, so it’s still too warm for me there in the evening.
It’s finally 21 degrees outside, and it’s raining.
I cried yesterday because I was so happy for nature!
But it’s still 25 degrees inside.
It’s been cooler here for a few days now, and it’s been raining on and off. I’m really happy about it—the plants look much healthier, and it’s good for the lawn, too. Plus, it’s finally settling that nasty dust—it wasn’t just all over outside, but inside here as well. The air is nice and clear, and we can finally breathe deeply again.
