These two lace angels are going to my two physical therapists next week, because without them, I’d be feeling much worse than I do now.

Very nice idea and execution. I think it’s great to say “thank you” this way.

The little angels themselves are now finished. Will they go in a small embroidery or picture frame?

Thank you both
@Ina, these are lace angels; you can thread a string through them and hang them up

Best wishes, Inge

Dear Inge, do you cut the lace angels out all the way around the edge of the design? And doesn’t that make the edges fray? Are they stiff enough to use as pendants? Or do they need to be treated somehow first (e.g., with laundry starch)?

Sorry for all the questions—you know I’m curious :-)

Best wishes, Ina

There used to be a kids’ TV show in the 1970s and ’80s—the theme song was called “Why, How, and What,” and the saying goes, “If you don’t ask, you’ll stay dumb” :-)) but I don’t remember what the show was called anymore :-))
@ Ina, no, there’s a water-soluble stabilizer for embroidery; you embroider the angel on it, and when it’s finished, you remove it from the hoop and rinse it out under lukewarm water. The advantage of this is that the stabilizer peels off cleanly along the edges, and at the same time, the adhesive in the stabilizer stiffens the embroidered design. After it dries, you just need to iron it lightly once through a cloth, and then it’s done.

Best regards, Inge

Of course, I remember that show, too. I guess I’ve stayed a kid at heart. When I find something beautiful, I always have to know exactly what it is.

That embroidery backing is brilliant, of course! And much neater than if someone were snipping away with scissors. A great invention, in any case—and the little angels speak for themselves anyway. They’ll touch the hearts of the two physical therapy ladies. That’s just how it should be.

Love, Ina
