Colored fibers—especially cotton—shouldn’t be hung in direct sunlight, as they fade quickly.

I wash delicate garments in a laundry bag or a pillowcase to prevent them from pilling too quickly.

For crocheted or knitted items, I avoid wearing backpacks or crossbody bags, as the friction can damage the material.

Don’t wash wool sweaters too often; instead, hang them outside to air out, and they’ll be fresh again the next day.

Use high-quality materials for fabrics and wool—this prevents them from wearing out too quickly. Look for timeless cuts so you can wear them for years. I have a loden coat myself that I sewed in the early ’90s, and it still looks brand-new and is wearable today.
