Your Current Favorite Material + Your Current Favorite Technique?

Dear community,
what are you especially enjoying working with right now?

I love working with beautiful fabrics. They’re all waiting for me in my sewing room. But I haven’t had a chance to devote myself to them in peace lately. So they’ll have to wait a little longer. It’s a good thing fabrics are so patient.

My energy is still going into preserving my garden produce. We still have lots of apples that need to be turned into applesauce or used as a cake topping. And the bell peppers are ripe, too. They’ll be pickled sweet and sour or cooked into lecsó. In winter, the whole family looks forward to our garden treasures. There’s nothing more delicious than potato pancakes with applesauce.

I still prefer cotton yarn, and right now I’m almost exclusively crocheting again. When it comes to knitting, I’m a bit more flexible with my choice of yarn.

Well, I love experimenting and trying out new yarns all the time. I really enjoy working with cotton when it comes to delicate pieces like my mushrooms, acorns, and leaves.

But I also really love ribbon yarn because you can get great results with it so quickly. I think it’s wonderful, especially when crocheting baskets, bags, or backpacks.

But in the fall and winter, I’m also absolutely in love with fluffy yarn. I think it’s sooo beautiful—the effects you can create with it.

As you can see, I can’t really make up my mind...

For me, it’s sewing with secondhand fabrics and embroidery—cross-stitch or recreating a picture.
